Job Title: Plumbing/Drainage Apprentice

Benefits: Weekend work and night work will be paid at 2x normal hourly rates, along with overtime. Apprentices will be provided with uniform, health and safety kits and starter pack of decent tools, which will be expanded as they develop through different tasks and applications.
We are a commercial property maintenance company who specialise in plumbing, drainage and gas services for a range of high end London based clients. We have a longstanding client base at top hotels, restaurants, office complexes, football stadia and shopping centres, and offer a personalised, professional service which has led to extensive growth over the last 10 years.
We are looking for 4 new Apprentices to work across both our day shift and night shift operations. We are looking for specific individuals who will fit into our existing work teams and who can comply with our professional company focus and client driven work ethics.
Applicants should be:
• Focused and driven to succeeding in every given task;
• Polite, presentable and able to speak coherently to customers and superiors;
• Use their initiative and be able to apply themselves fully to every given job and task;
• A good, positive attitude;
• Able to accept authority and work within the rules and guidelines which apply to all engineers;
• Literate (Paperwork/Computers/Technology) GCSES grade C or above in Maths and English (Statutory requirement for college);
• Flexible to long shifts and changing work patterns;
• Keen to learn and develop practical skills;
• Physically fit and able;
• Proactive and driven;
In addition applicants should have a strong stomach! Drainage related issues make up to 50% of our business and often require getting your hands dirty!
Position/Apprenticeship Details:
Each successful applicant will be required to complete a 6 month probation period. In this time regular meetings will be held on site and in the office. This will allow the company and the applicant to gauge whether or not they will be well suited to the role and the college course. Following this, the apprenticeship is structured over 2 years with level 2 City & Guilds plumbing course funded through the company. It is not focused purely on plumbing as the apprentices will work across a range of drainage, gas and pumps (mechanical) applications with different supervising engineers on a rotation basis. This will include periods working within our nightshift operation at certain times. This will also involve office based work to generate an all encompassing apprenticeship across the spectrum of the company operation. Additional in house and out of house training courses will also be included in trade relevant aspects. List available on interview. On completion of apprentice further opportunities may be available for level 3 plumbing, electrical qualifications or trainee management positions. These are not guaranteed but will be subject to evaluation of on-going performance and skill base of each apprentice.
Pay structures are set a UK standard minimum wage for apprentices (£3.30 per hour). Weekend work and night work will be paid at 2x normal hourly rates, along with overtime .
