Yamaha RX-V4600 7.1 Home Cinema Receiver. THX certified. HDMI. High-end. Full working order
£150
Description
For sale, my Yamaha RX-V4600 home cinema 7.1 surround receiver/amplifier. This beast originally sold for around £1700. It weighs a tonne. Almost literally; even by AVR standards this thing is heavy so you'll need a car; transport by bus would be horrendous and I would not post in a million years.
Everything works; at some time or another I've used just about all the connections apart from the triggers; not sure if anyone uses these. There are no known faults or little bugs; it has worked faultlessly every time for the past few years I've had the unit. Be aware that it runs very hot so should not be enclosed in a cabinet (without fans).
I originally bought from an ebay dealer so in its previous home it appears to have sustained a few bumps (hardly surprising considering the weight). I've tried to show these in the images. There are 2 dents as shown and the rear panel is pushed in slightly at the centre, but again this is aesthetic only; all connections work. Other than that the unit is in very good condition and clean.
It sounds awesome as you'd expect for a unit which originally cost nearly 2k and I don't think you could better the sound without going the pre/power amp route. I'm only reluctantly selling because I now use an AVR with networking capabilities. If this isn't important to you and sound quality comes first, you will not be disappointed (subject to you correctly calibrating the unit for your room and gear). There are plenty of good reviews online if you search a little. There is also THX certification on this unit and it uses HDMI.
Includes remote, power cable, calibration mic only. Instructions are easily downloadable. Strictly cash on collection from Newtonhill - courier scammers get lost. The unit is no longer connected to my system so cannot demo but can power up if you like.
