2010 Commencal Meta 5.5.2 Full Suspension AM/ Trail Mountain Bike (size Medium)
Description
2010 Commencal Meta 5.5 (Medium) all mountain/ UK trail bike... One of the benchmark do it all mountain bikes with geometry that allows you to climb up as well as hammer the the downhills.
I've owned this bike from new and it reignited my love of bike riding. Flick the Pro Pedal on for the up hills, do your exercise for the day and then smile all the way as you fly back down the hill!! Just as ideal for trail centers and uplift days as it is for messing about in your local woods.
I like my bikes to work well so it's always been cleaned (never jet washed) & re-lubed after each ride with any worn components replaced. There are signs of wear but these are limited and I have used helicopter tape on high wear areas since the bike was new. The spec list below is littered with high end upgrades that have ensured the bike continues to perform when required:
Frame: Commencal Meta 5.5.2, TIG-welded Neo Ultra tubing
(helicopter taped on rear drive side from new)
Fork: Fox 32 float RL (140mm travel)
Rear Shock: Fox RP2 (140mm travel)
Hubs: Shimano XTR
Rims: Mavic 717 (32 hole)
Tires: 2.2” Schwalbe Magic Mary & 26 x 2.00" Maxxis Larsen
Spoke: Sapim double butted with brass nipples
Brakeset: Shimano XT with 203mm (front) and 180mm (rear) discs
Shifters: SRAM X.9 Trigger
Rear Mech: X9 rear mech
Front Mech: Shimano SLX
Crankset: Shimano XT (triple ring)
Bottom Bracket: Shimano XT
Rear Cassette: 9 speed Sram 990 (X9 level)
Seatpost: Thompson
Saddle: WTB Rocket
Handlebar: Easton E70 Monkey Bar
Stem: Thompson 70mm
Headset: 1 1/8" integrated
Two spare sets of tires:
1.9 Tioga Semi Slicks (Kevlar bead)
1.9 Bontrager XC Muds (Kevlar bead)
This would make an ideal first "proper" full sus bike or even suit someone who is returning to the sport after some time away. I'm looking for £525 (sensible offers considered), which is great value when you look at how much a half decent hardtail costs in Halfords!!
Thanks for looking,
Myles
