Location – The Shed Nightclub, 26 Langside Avenue, Glasgow, G41 2QS
Position – General Manager
Pay and Conditions – Basic salary between £23,000-£27000 per annum depending on experience and in addition to basic salary there will be an incentive based bonus dependent on unit performance. Actual hours of work are dependent on functions, entertainment schedule, special events etc but successful candidate should expect to work ALL weekends (except annual leave) and the evening shifts will obviously include late nights. Your working week will be approx. 40-48hrs per week, due to the nature of the Shed venue some weeks (ie. Over the festive period) hours will be greater but in other weeks the workload can be less.
The Shed nightclub has been open for over 20 years and is a landmark building and venue in Glasgow southside. The late night sector across the UK has varied greatly throughout these 20 years and the Shed is at the start of an exciting period in its near future with the redevelopement of Shawlands town centre, the recently granted later operating hours till 3AM to allow Shawlands and the south of Glasgow to have a competitive and exciting nighttime economy. We are looking for someone to lead the venue and its members of staff and help drive the Shed forward through these changing times. Currently the shed operates as a nightclub two nights a week (Friday & Saturday), special guest DJ slots, bank holidays and hosts a variety of events through the week from local theatre to fitness boot camps. In addition the shed hosts pre-hampden events for football teams specifically the tartan army.
Job Role – Includes all aspects of operating and running a busy nightclub/venue including promoting events, coordinating PR, bar, and security teams setting targets for departments liasing with the butterfly and the pig management team at the corona. Successful candidate will be fluent in English, willing to engage in all areas of the business, driven to succeed, experienced in the licensed trade and a fast learner.
